Is it unsafe to drink energy drinks before a workout?

 No.  In fact, it is a good thing.

You will be charging your body with glucose (sugar), and likely potassium, sodium, and other essential electrolytes.  So long as you actually workout (not just prance about the gym trying to attract attention), you will be fine.


The danger is in drinking too much of these drinks...and not working out.  You will overload your body with these electrolytes and actually dehydrate yourself...and potentially cause organ damage.
