Alexia (Alessia Aquilani) was born in La Spezia (Italy) on 19-05-1967 under the sign of Taurus.
Since she was a child she had an irresistible attraction to music. When she was seven years old she began studying piano and voice at school. Her family, noticing at such an early age her singing and performing talents, decided to point her in the direction of a musical career. It was during this time she won more than fifty song-contests achieving the title of "Little wonder". When Alexia was twelve she studied dance. In the meantime Alexia kept on doing shows in clubs, becoming familiar with the stage and live crowds.
When she was a teen she joined a very famous pop group in La spezia, called "I Ragazzi Migliarina". After finishing school she started working as a full-time singer, doing many shows during the summer. During one of these shows she was contacted by a manager of a group, working in disco's, and he asked Alexia to be their lead singer. This was the start of her professional career in the clubs, without giving up her studies of opera and classical music.Alexia also founded her own group called "Brother Machine".
This was the time when Alexia first met Robert Zannetti (her producer, better known as Robyx). Roberto's sister Viviana had told him about Alexia as she heard her singing in a club with with her band. He came to listen for himself and approched her, asking if she would like to go to the studio for an audition. So in 1990 Alexia entered the DWA team, at first as a studio vocalist. In 1991 Roberto asked Alexia to take part in the Ice MC project. In 1993/1994 , the great succes came and Alexia and Ice MC did shows all arround the world. Ice MC was not the only project she took part in. On a lot of DWA products you can hear Alexia's voice. Remember those flourfillers from Digilove, Fourteen 14, DUE and Galactica. She also sang together with Double You. She e.g. sang the background vocals of the song "Please Don't Go", one of the biggest dancehits ever (also on a lot of other Double You songs).
On Double You's "Blue Album" she sang in two songs: "Part-time Lover" and "Got to Love".
In 1995 Roberto Zanetti decided to concentrate on Alexia's solo career. Robyx created a song for her incredible voice, called "Me and You". William Naraine (Double You) sang a small part in this song. This single was released in August and just a view days from it's release, it made waves everywhere reaching the top spot in Italy and in Spain.The succeses made with her follow-up singles (Summer is Crazy, Number One, Uh la la la, Gimme Love and The Music I Like) are the big to list here. Her two albums (Fanclub & The Party) are also a big succes.
In late august 1999 finally a new album is released; "Happy"
2 singles of the album have been released, "Goodbye" & "Happy".
In June Alexia's greatest hits album has been released together with a single called "Ti amo ti amo".
