Are Americans too strict, or too lax in their education system?

Do you think our kids need 6 hours of homework every night, or less than 1?? Do you think certain parts of the country are more strict with their education programs?

Six hours is too much. One or two hours reviewing the days lessons, and previewing the next days is enough.  Too much can cause mental shut down.

Yes, I think that the US are getting relaxed in their education requirements.

I work at a community college and the young people coming to us from High School, are not even prepared for entry level English, math or reading.

It's very sad.  Even the children who were in so-called *advanced* classes.

Our community college system is talking about reducing the requirements for entry.  I'm sorry, but I think that we should stick to them, or increase them, and challenge the schools to do better.
