There are several reasons:
- lack of knowledge;
- envy and low self-esteem and self-worth;
- people not thinking and believing what they hear or want to hear;
- ego and ethnocentric belief that one culture is better than the others;
- "fear";
- ignorance;
- not knowing everyone is basically the same;
- no spiritual values, virtues, or beliefs.
